Hallowe’en in Greenfield Village brings classic characters to life for select nights in October

With more than 50 costumed characters, including storybook favorites from Alice in Wonderland, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, Sleepy Hollow and other classic tales, you never know what you’ll encounter along the enchanted path lit by over 1,000 hand carved jack-o’-lanterns during Hallowe’en in Greenfield Village presented by Meijer, Oct. 11-13, 17-20 and 24-27. Hallowe’en in Greenfield Village was recently voted one of Country Living Magazine’s “29 Best Halloween Events Near You.”

Modeled after the holiday as it was celebrated during the first half of the century, Hallowe’en in Greenfield Village is unlike any celebration across the country and fun for all ages. The event brings beloved characters to life complete with swashbuckling action, singing, dancing and live performances from the Pirates of the Suwanee, Transylvanian Trio and the Potion Sisters. The crowd- pleasing Top Hat Sideshow is back again with their carnival vaudeville act that introduces the spirit and thrills of the traveling sideshows and carnivals of the early 1900s to new audiences today.

For visitors looking to enhance their evening, there are two dinner experiences for 2019, Hallowe’en Fairy Tale Feast and the Eagle Tavern Harvest Dinner. Now in its second year, Fairy Tale Feast takes guests on a horse-drawn wagon ride to A Taste of History Restaurant for a buffet supper with their favorite storybook characters. Eagle Tavern Harvest Dinner provides visitors with a traditional 19th-century fall feast complete with music and classic parlor games.
